Triangular clash injures 35 in Patuakhali

PATUAKHALI: At least 35 people including six cops were injured during a triangular clash among Awami League, BNP and police in Bauphal Upazila of the district on Friday noon.

Witnesses said that local AL leaders came out with a procession at around 12:00pm which was interrupted by BNP leaders-activists bringing out another demo at upazila’s Hospital Road area.

They locked into a fierce clash and police rushed to the spot which triggered a triangular clash, leaving 35 injured including six police personnel, they added.

The injured were rushed to several hospitals and clinics including Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

However police nabbed three BNP-Jamaat men in this connection.

Confirming the matter Bauphal Thana Officer-in-Charge Naresh Chandra Karmakar said that the situation was under their control.
