JCD leader shot dead in Jessore

JESSORE: A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader was shot to death and another sustained bullet injury at Judge Court intersection of the town on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain Palash, 30, vice-president of district Chhatra Dal, son of Mahidul Islam of the town and injured was Chhatra Dal leader Shamsuzzaman Rintu.

Witnesses said that Palash and Rintu along with some Chhatra Dal activists were drinking tea at a tea stall at around 7:00pm at Judge Court intersection. Suddenly, some miscreants riding on motorbike opened fire to them, leaving Palash and Rintu injured critically.

They were rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where Palash succumbed to his injuries.

District assistant Police Super Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
