Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said if BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia wants to go abroad, she has to go through legal process.
The foreign minister was briefing reporters after meeting with foreign diplomats at state guesthouse Padma in Dhaka Monday (Nov 29).
He also told reporters: "As Khaleda Zia is a prisoner, she cannot go abroad if he wants to. However, she can bring doctors from any country if she wants. Her medical report has been sent abroad."
In the meeting with the foreign diplomats, he said that the government is committed to free, fair and transparent elections in Bangladesh.
"There was some violence in the elections due to over-enthusiasm of some people," he said.
Abdul Momen also spoke to the diplomats on Rohingya crisis, their relocation to Bhasan Char, and World Peace Conference to be held on December 4-5.
