DHAKA: Public Service Commission (PSC) said quota system will no longer be applicable for candidates of the 40th BCS examinations in accordance with government’s decision.
The commission made the disclosure on Wednesday (July 1) after publishing the results of 38th BCS which was the last one to allow the quota system.
Previously on Tuesday (June 30), PSC published the results of 38th BCS examination with a recommendation to appoint 2,204 candidates, said AEM Nesar Uddin, controller of examinations at PSC.
Following months-long tough quota movement on October 3, 2018, the Cabinet division decided to scrap the quota system from the recruitment process in first and second class government jobs. Later the Public Administration Ministry issued gazette notification in this regard.
