CHITTAGONG: A contingent of 140 members of Bangladesh Navy on Sunday left Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong to join United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Chittagong naval region chief staff officer Captain AKMM Sirafullah was present at the airport to see off the colleagues.
He also called the newly recruited UNIFIL members to perform with honesty, sincerity and highest level of professional capability.
He also urged the navy members to uphold the spirit of service as well as to make the country’s image brighter.
Other higher naval officials were also present during the departure of the contingent.
Moreover, another group of 140 navy members are expecting to leave home on June 20 to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.
The personnel will work in two Bangladesh Navy warships ‘Ali Haidar’ and ‘Nirmul’, deployed in the Mediterranean Sea in Lebanon.
