DHAKA: Nayek Anis has been suspended Monday for humiliating a girl during Sunday’s Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters gherao program.

DMP issued the suspension order on Monday, said its Deputy Commission (Media) SM Jahangir.

On Sunday, police force dispersed demonstrators, who tried to besiege DMP HQ over the sexual assault at Dhaka University on Pahela Boishakh.

Some 12 people, including Chhatra Union president Hassan Tarek, were injured when police charged batons, rifle butts, water cannon and teargas canisters to disperse protesters.

At that time Nayek Anis humiliated the girl who joined the ghreao program and the photos created controversy in the country.
