DHAKA: Newly elected mayors, Annisul Huq of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Syeed Khokon of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), vowed to make their respective cities clean and free from traffic congestion.
Moreover, Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) new mayor AJM Nasir Uddin also promised to make the port city free from waterlogging by taking long-term project.
They made these vows while talking to reporters after taking their oaths as mayors at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in city on Wednesday.
Mayor Annisul promised to build a livable and beautiful city by taking short, middle and long-term programs.
He also sought assistance from residents as he thinks that only a mayor can’t make the city livable.
Thanking the voters for electing him as the mayor, Annisul said he is also grateful to PM and ruling Awami League (AL) for their supports to him.
New DSCC mayor Syeed Khokon said he will work from the first day of his tenure to ease traffic congestion, repair roads and make the city neat and clean.
Khokon also thanked the voters and said he will apply his previous experiences in improving the livelihood of city dwellers.
CCC mayor Nasir said he will take long-term projects to solve the longstanding problem of waterlogging in Chittagong.
