FROM NATIONAL PARLIAMENT: Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury informed the nation saying that at least 138 people were killed in past 85 days due to the prevailing political unrest across the country.
The speaker in her concluding speech of 5th session of 10th national parliament made the assertion.
She said, moreover, many people including women and children received burn injuries in arson attacks after January 5.
According to the speaker, democracy does not support violence.
‘We should stop violence with the support of people,’ she added.
However, mentioning Bangladesh’s gradual development, the speaker said that a prosperous nation should be made for younger generation.
