Traffic sergeant hurt in cocktail attack

DHAKA: A traffic sergeant was injured when Jamaat-Shibir men threw cocktail targeting him in capital’s Shyamoli area on Saturday morning.

The injured was admitted to Suhrawardi Hospital.

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir attacked the on-duty traffic sergeant in opposite side of the Shishu Mela in Shyamoli area of the city at 9:45am.

Some alleged attackers were detained from the spot for interrogation, said police of She-e-Banglanagar Thana.
