FARIDPUF & BARISAL: Three people were killed as miscreants threw a firebomb at a running truck in Gouranadi Upazila of the district at Saturday dawn.

The victims are Ijadul Islam, 35, driver of the truck, also son of former TSI Jahangir, Mannu Biswas, 45, helper of the truck, and Motaleb Sheikh, 65, father-in-law of Ijadul.

Gouranadi Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) M Sazzad Hossain told banglanews that on arrival at Batajor Bazar on Dhaka-Barisal highway, the poultry feed-laden truck, heading to Barisal from Gazipur, came under petrol bomb attack by suspected blockaders, leaving the trio dead on the spot.

Barisal police super AKM Ahsan Ullah also confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said drive is underway to nab the criminals and two were detained till 11:30am.
