DHAKA: The body of Language Movement veteran Abdul Matin will be kept on the Central Shaheed Minar premises in city on Thursday for the people from all walks of life to pay their last respects to him.
Sources said that his body will be taken there at 10:00am.
Abdul Matin widely honored as ‘Bhasha Matin’ passed away earlier on Wednesday morning.
Matin’s wife Gul Badan Nesa Manika told banglanews that her husband passed away around 9:00am at city’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
“He had been undergoing treatment for last couple of days there for old age complications,” she said.
The body of Language Movement veteran is now at BSMMU mortuary.
Before taking there, doctors collected Matin’s corneas following his last will.
‘Bhasha Matin’ on October 4 donated the corneas of his both eyes to the Sandhani, a voluntary institution of medical and dental students of Bangladesh, before taking life support.
He, however, when will be b urried, is yet to know.
