2 go missing in Sunamganj boat capsize

SUNAMGANJ: Two workers went missing as a sand-laden boat capsized by hit of a Bhalgate in Surma river at Panda area of Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The victims are Nur Miah, 40, son of Shamsu Mia, and Shohagh, 19, son of Khalil. They both hailed from Mohanpur village of the upazila.

Mohanpur Upazila parishad chairman Tazul Islam told banglanews that the Bhalgate hit the boat from behind. 

After the incident they both went missing, he added.

Md Harun-ur-Rashid, Superintendent of police, confirmed the matter to banglanews and said police were deployed in the spot.
