JHENIDAH: Three children, including two siblings, drowned in Kalyanpur and Shankarpur villages of Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Saimun, 4, and Farhana, 5, son and daughter of one Zillur Raman, of Kalyanpur village and Rabbi, 6, son of Soleman Mandal, hailed from Shankarpur village of the upazila.

Kabir Ahmed, chairman of Surat union, told banglanews Saimun and Farhana drowned in a canal while they were playing.

Villagers recovered their bodies in the afternoon, he added.

Meanwhile, Rabbi drowned in a pond, said Azizur Rahman, chairman of Ganna union.
