61,000 Yaba seized in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 61,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets worth about TK 1.8 crore at Naitangpara in Teknaf upazila of the district on Friday.

Battalion commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Abuzar Al Zahid told banglanews, “BGB drove operation in Naitangpara area as it had information that a consignment of Yaba tablet is being brought to Bangladesh from Myanmar by a trawler via Naf River.” 

“Seeing BGB men, the Yaba smugglers jumped off the trawler and escaped, BGB searched the motor boat and recovered 61,000 pieces of Yaba tablets and seized the trawler,” he added.
