Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely to affect several parts of the country over the next 24 hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Saturday (May 31).
According to the latest forecast issued this morning, showers are expected at many places across Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
One or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions may also experience rainfall or thundershowers.
“Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” the forecast added.
Day and night temperatures are likely to rise by 1–3 degrees Celsius across the country.
On Friday, the highest temperature was recorded at 33.5°C in Koyra upazila of Khulna division, while the lowest was 23.2°C in Bandarban district of Chattogram division.
Bandarban also recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours until 6am Friday, with 141 millimetres, the BMD said.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:42 pm today and rise at 5:11 am on Sunday.
