Bangladesh, Japan sign MoUs to send skilled workers

Bangladesh and Japan signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) today to train and send skilled Bangladeshi workers to Japan.

The agreements were signed during a human resources seminar hosted by the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo, attended by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus.

One MoU was signed between BMET and Kaicom Dream Street BD Co. Ltd. to develop a model training centre at Monohardi for Japan’s TITP and SSW programmes.

Another tripartite MoU among BMET, NBCC of Japan, and JBBRA aims to establish a strategic framework for worker placement under the same programmes.

Japan plans to accept 100,000 Bangladeshi workers over the next five years under these initiatives.
