President Mohammed Shahabuddin has removed Justice Khondker Diliruzzaman from the High Court Division.
The Supreme Court administration confirmed the matter on Thursday (May 22).
The decision was made following a report by the Supreme Judicial Council, in line with Article 96(6) of the Constitution. The removal was effective from May 21.
Justice Diliruzzaman was among 12 High Court judges who were initially barred from judicial functions on October 20 last year, following student protests demanding the resignation of what they called “biased, corrupt and fascist-linked” judges.
Justice Diliruzzaman also led a judicial probe commission formed by the government to investigate the violence during the quota reform protests. As part of the investigation, he visited Rangpur.
