RAB-Shibir clash hurts 4 in Jessore

JESSORE: At least four people were injured, including a RAB official, in a clash between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Jamaat-Shibir activists at Rupdia union under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

Sources said the clash started as a group of Jamaat-Shibir men chucked brickbats aiming RAB personnel while they were performing duty in the area around 12:00 noon.

Later, the law enforcing agency charged batons and opened fire to disperse them, leaving four people injured, including a RAB official.

Officer-in-Charge of Jessore Kotwali Model Thana Emdadul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said nine people were arrested in this connection after a special drive.
