Stay vigilant amid rise in COVID-19 cases: Health Minister 

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has urged the people to stay vigilant as the Covid-19 cases are on the rise in the country.

He said: "Be careful as Covid-19 cases have risen a bit. You have to wear a mask and don't forget about social distance. The number of patients is increasing."

The minister made the plea after a meeting on Automation of student admission process in private medical and dental colleges at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Monday (June 13).

He also said, "In the last few months, 30-35 people were infected daily on an average. But yesterday, 109 people tested positive for coronavirus. So, we have to keep Covid infection under control. The deadly virus has not been removed fully. We need united efforts so that the situation cannot go into an abnormal state."

The number of COVID-19 patients is increasing in hospitals, Zahid Maleque said, adding that Ministers and distinguished persons are being tested positive for coronavirus.

The minister said, "I repeat - wear a mask, sanitize your hands and maintain social distance. If you have not received the vaccine, take the vaccine immediately.
