DHAKA: Country’s leading online news portal Banglanews greeted the Bangla daily ‘Desh Rupantor’ on occasion of its first anniversary.

A representative team of the portal, led by its editor Jewel Mazhar, greeted Rupayan Group Chairman Liaquat Ali Khan Mukul with a bouquet of flowers at Rupayan Tower in Bangla Motor of the capital on Monday (January 20).

Other members of the Banglanews team were - Head of News Ahmed Jewel, Senior Output Editor SM Salahuddin, Chief of Correspondents Towhidur Rahman and Lifestyle editor Sharmina Islam.

Jewel Mazhar, in his speech, said: “Desh Rupantor is not only a new name in the field of journalism, it has added a new dimension also. I can say with certainty that this daily has ensured a high standard. I thank Desh Rupantor for occupying a special place among a lot of good newspapers. Desh Rupantor is doing a great job in investigative journalism. The daily has shown how to dig out corruption.”

Jewel Mazhar also said: “I have an emotional aspect attached to Desh Rupantor.  When we were young, we learnt a lot from Amit Habib, who is known to us as Amit Da.  Whatever Amit Da touched, it turned to gold.
