Khaleda still loyal to Pakistan

FROM SYLHET: Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is still loyal to Pakistan and she does not believe in Bangladeshi sovereignty.

She came up with the observation while addressing a rally at MC College Academy ground in the district on Tuesday.

Hasina alleged that Khaleda Zia had been trying heart and soul to save war criminals.

The premier also said that father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started war crimes trial. But after his assassination in 1975, Ziaur Rahman stopped the trial and rehabilitated the war criminals.

The premier also said as Ziaur Rahman’s successor, at present Khaleda Zia is patronizing war criminals and she made two war criminals as minister during her tenure.

Earlier, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, arrived in Sylhet on Tuesday morning amid tight security.

A special fight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the premier landed at Sylhet Osmani Airport at around 10:00am

Later, she performed jiarat at the mazar of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) at 10:30am and then to goes to Hazrat Shah Paran (R) for performing jiarat.
