The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will mark its 47th founding anniversary on Monday (September 1) with a series of programmes beginning on Sunday (August 31).
According to a party press release issued on Saturday, the anniversary will be observed to highlight BNP’s founding principles, political achievements, and its ongoing commitment to democracy and public service.
The observance will begin on Sunday at 2 pm with a discussion titled “Purpose and Significance of BNP’s Establishment” at the Engineers’ Institution auditorium in Ramna. Senior party leaders and prominent intellectuals are expected to participate.
On Monday, September 1, at 11 am, BNP Secretary General, members of the party’s National Standing Committee, and leaders of BNP’s affiliated and allied organisations will gather at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar mausoleum of party founder and former president Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam. They will pay tribute with prayers and floral wreaths.
The week-long celebration will culminate on Tuesday (September 2), at 2 pm with a colourful rally starting from the BNP’s central office at Naya Paltan, drawing party leaders, activists, and supporters from across the country.
