Shibir-cop clash in city, 3 held

DHAKA: Chhatra Shibir activists locked into a clash with law enforcers in city’s Badda Nayanagar area in the morning of the third day (Monday) of blockade.

Sources said that a group of 25-30 Shibir men brought out a procession at around 8:30am in the area.

Meanwhile, Shibir men vandalized two vehicles.

On information, police rushed to the spot and fired 22 rounds from their shotguns to bring the situation under control.

Badda Thana Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On the other hand, Shibir activists tried to block the road in Nadda bus stand area at around 8:45am.

They locked into a clash with cops as they tried to prevent them. At one stage, police held three Shibir activists from the spot.
