Mahmudur sent to jail after remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court Sunday sent acting editor of the Daily Amar Desh to jail after 6-day remand in two cases filed with Tejgaon Thana.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Salam passed the order.

On April 11, the court granted 13-day remand of Mahmudur in three cases. After completion of his remand he is sent to jail again by the order of the court.

Mahmudur Rahman did not appoint any lawyer for his hearing rather he submitted deposition hearing by himself.

He alleged that he didn’t have any food or proper accommodation during the remand period.

Moreover, there was lack of sanitation facilities which is against the human right and the act of law.

He also raised his voice against the government and the torture of law enforcers.

On April 11, law enforcers arrested daily Amar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman on charge of skype scandal over International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
