The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 62 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Sunday (July 31).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 7,446 pieces of Yaba tablets, 11.4gm hemp and 27gm heroin, 100 bottles of local wine and five bottles of Phensidyl, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 43 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
