The country reported two deaths and 189 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Saturday morning (Oct 23), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, 86 died from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

In the 24 hours, 155 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 34 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 838 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Tuesday morning. Of them, 669 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 169 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 22,319 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 21,395 patients have returned home after recovery.
