Three people were killed and 20 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Singair upazila of Manikganj.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Singair regional highway in Rishipara area on Thursday noon.

The deceased are- bus driver Hridoy, 28, Anwara Begum, 65, and Nikhil, 25.

Singair police station Officer-in-Charge (OC, Probe) Abul Kalam said the incident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch in Rishipara area leaving three passengers dead on the post and scores injured.

The injured passengers were rescued and sent to nearby hospitals, he added.
