Trafficker killed in Teknaf ‘gunfight’

COX’S BAZAR: A Rohingya member of human trafficking gang was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between two rival groups in Alukhali Salt Field in Teknaf Upazila of the district early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Amanullh, 30.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Thana Ataur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said being informed about the gun battle, the law enforcers rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Amanullah.

Later, the body was sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Amanullah was accused in six cases including arms, smuggling and trafficking, the OC added.
