KOLKATA: The schedule of Maitree Express train running between Dhaka and Kolkata has been revised for next six months with effect from Friday.

Indian Eastern Railway Chief Commercial Manager issued a press release in this regard.

The release said the train will leave Kolkata on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday in a week for Dhaka and it will return from Dhaka on Friday, Sunday and Wednesday.

However, there was no change in departure time and stations and those trains will start journey from Chitpur Station of Kolkata’s and Dhaka Cantonment of Bangladesh.

The rail authorities expected that the new schedule would benefit the passengers.

Maitree Express, introduced on 14 April 2008, now runs twice a week from both directions.
