Sirajganj: At least four people were killed and three others sustained injuries in a road accident in Chairman Market area on Hatikumrul-Banpara highway of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as China Khatun, 26, daughter of Noba Fakir of Salanga Thana, her father-in-law Rajab Ali, 50, Abdul Hamid, 65, of Syedganti village in Kamarkhand Upazila and his daughter Rehana Khatun Eti, 22.

Police sources said that a microbus ran over a human hauler as its driver lost control over the steering in the area around 9:00am, leaving two women dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were sent to local hospital. Of them, Rajab Ali was refereed to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahamn Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. However, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Later at 12:15pm, another injured died at Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.

Hatikumrul Highway Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) BM Imdadul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
