TANGAIL: A teacher of a local high school was killed in a road accident in Tarutia area under Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Amjad Hossain Master, 50, assistant teacher of Boali BLS High School and also president of Jadabpur Union AL unit of Sakhipur upazila.

Locals said a speedy truck rammed the motorcycle of Amjad on Dhaka-Tangail Bangabandhu Bridge highway in the area around 12:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Sakhipur Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Mafizul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the body was kept at Tangail Medical College and Hospital.
