DHAKA: Five people were killed and 10 others injured in road crashes in Sylhet and Gazipur districts on Wednesday.
Banglanews correspondent from Sylhet reports: Three persons including a woman were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Sylhet Sunamganj road around 12:30pm.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Jalalabad Thana officer-in-charge Akter Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Banglanews Gazipur correspondent reports: Two people, including a woman, were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway in city’s Kodda area on Wednesday morning.
None of the deceased and the injured could be identified.
Police and witnesses said that a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Ajmeri Paribahan, coming from Chandra of Kaliakair, collided-head-on with a truck in the area around 6:45am, killing two people on the spot and injuring 10 others.
Of the injured, four were taken of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as they were in critical condition. Rests of the injured were admitted at different local hospital and clinics.
Konabari Highway Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) M Daud Mian confirmed the matter to banglanews.
