DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday sentenced a person to death and four others to life imprisonment in Kabir killing case in Sonargaon of Narayanganj district.

Justice ABM Nizamul Haque of Dhaka Speedy Trail Tribunal-4 passed the order at noon.

The death row convict is Hasnat while the life-term awardees are Raju, Saju, Rahima Begum and Habibullah Habu.

The tribunal also fined the life-term awardees Tk 10,000 each, in default, one more year imprisonment.

Earlier on August 1, 2013, the convicts hacked Kabir to death by local weapons on the yard of Hasnat.

The victim’s wife Jahanara filed a murder case with Sonargaon Thana on August 3.
