DHAKA: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday appealed to the High Court (HC) to make it a party in the case filed against Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, for concealing wealth information.
ACC lawyer M Khurshid Alam Khan filled the application to a HC bench of Justice Mohammad Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan.
The HC keep the appeal in its Thursday’s cause list for hearing, said Khurshid.
On September 27, 2007, the ACC filed a case with Kafrul Police Station against Tarique and his wife Zubaida and mother-in-law Iqbalmand Banu for concealing information of properties worth over Tk 4.23 crore in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC earlier.
Later of that year, the HC ordered a stay on the case proceedings following a petition filed by Tarique’s wife.
