DHAKA: A city court on Tuesday noon placed madrasa students Zikrullah and Arif on 8-day remand in blogger Washiqur Rahman murder case.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Yunus Ali Khan passed the order in response to a 10-day remand plea by Tejgaon Industrial Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman, also investigation officer of the case.

Earlier on Monday, the blogger Washiqur Rahman, 35, was chopped dead by three students of Chittagong Hathazari Madrasa at Tejgaon area in the city.

However, police arrested Zikrullah and Arif after chasing when the miscreants tried to flee the spot.

Later, victim’s brother-in-law Monir Hossain Masud filed a case with Tejgaon Thana against four people.
