DHAKA: France called the authorities concerned to investigate into the brutal killing of blogger Oyasiqur Rahman Babu, condemning his death.

A statement of France Embassy in Dhaka said on Tuesday.

The statement, sent to media by the embassy’s Attaché de Press et Communication Shakhawat Hossain, reads, “A month after the murder of writer and blogger Avijit Roy, France calls on the authorities to investigate these revolting acts.”

The country reiterated its attachment to the freedom of opinion and expression.

France also conveyed its condolences to his family and his relatives, adds the statement.

However, three madaras students chopped blogger Washiqur, 35, to dead at Tejgaon area in the capital on Monday morning over ‘ideological conflict’.

Local caught two killers on spot and later handed over them to lawpersons.
