COX’S BAZAR: Two people were killed in road accident on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Harbang Goyalmara area under Chakaria Upazila on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Monaf Miah, 50, son of late Rahim Dad of Harbang Goyalmara area and Buddha Sramon Indrajit, 22, hailed from Hashimpur area of Chandanaish Upazila of Chittagong.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chakaria Thana Prabhash Chandra Dhar told banglanews that a Chittagong-bound microbus ran over Monaf in the area around 10:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.

The driver attempted to flee the accident spot, but the microbus, overturned after passing some distance that left its passenger Indrajit dead on the spot.

Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the spots.

They also seized the microbus, the OC added.
