Elephants kill man in Bandarban

BANDARBAN: Four wild elephants went on a rampage in Bhaggokul area under Sadar upazila on Wednesday night, leaving one elderly man dead.

The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem, 65.

Suyalok UP chairman Ranglai Mro confirmed the matter adding three more people were injured in the attack.

He said, the four men were returning from mosque after Esha prayer. At that time four wild elephants came down from the hill and chased the villagers, leaving one killed and three injured.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Imtiaz Ahmed.
