DHAKA: Bangladesh Awami Muktijoddha League on Saturday called for not harassing freedom fighters (FF) in the name of verification for distributing certificates.
They made the plea from a human chain and rally in front of Jatiya Press Club.
With central vice-president of the organization in the chair, freedom fighter Laily Begum, acting general secretary Zahir Uddin Bhuiyan, Dhaka city committee president Fakhrul Islam and Awami Muktijoddha Projonmo League president Asaduzzaman Durjoy also addressed the rally.
They asked the government to put emphasis on the matter about harassment while scrutinizing freedom fighters even after 43 years’ of Liberation War.
As part of the initiative, the Liberation War Affairs ministry fixed March 28, and April 4 and 11 to verify freedom fighters across the country.
