Bangabandhu killers’ info at overseas airports

FROM JATIYA SANGSAD:  State minister for home Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday told parliament that all the information with pictures of convicted killers of Bangabandhu has already been sent to important airports in the world in cooperation with Interpol.

In reply to a query of Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, the minister said a task force, headed by the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has been formed on March 28, 2010 to bring back the convicted killers of Father of the Nation for execution.

The task force had 13 meetings till the end of 2013 and all necessary efforts were taken to identify the location of the convicted killers and their repatriation.

He said the all necessary measures, including sending the information along with killers’ photos, have been taken to trace their locations. There is no negligence in this regard. The killers would be brought back maintaining proper procedures after locations of those were traced out, he added.

Responding to another question of Waresat Belal Hossain, the state minister said five convicts of Bangabandhu murder case were executed. Of the 12 death-row convicts, Colonel (Retd) Syed Faruk Rahman, Major (retd) Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Major (retd) AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed, W. Colonel (Retd) Mohiuddin Ahmed (Artillery) and Major (retd) Bazlul Huda were executed on January 28, 2010.

The rest of the accused Major (retd) Sayed Aziz Pasha died in Zimbabwe.

The six accused remained absconding. Of them Colonel (Ret) Khandaker Abdul Rashid is probably staying  in Pakistan or Libya while Major (retd) Shariful Haq Dalom in Pakistan or Libya or Zimbabwe, Major (retd.), Abu Mohammad Rashed Chowdhury in America, Major (retd.) SHMB Noor Chowdhury in Canada,  Captain (retd) Abdul Majed in Senegal and Risahladar Mosleh Uddin in India (possible).

The state Minister for home said the government has kept contact with United States and Canada to bring back Nur Chowdhury and Rashed Chowdhury. Besides, the countries concerned were requested not to give the convicts the citizenship of other countries like USA and Canada.
