COX’S BAZAR: Some 100,000 pieces of yaba tablet were seized by the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Gholarchar area under Teknaf upazila of the district on Saturday.

BGB-42 sources said that, acting on a tip off, BGB personnel conducted a drive and challenged a gang of smugglers in the area in the morning.

The sources said that BGB chased the smugglers while they tried to flee the scene, leaving behind a bag of yaba tablets.

However, the BGB members recovered the yaba tablets after searching the bag.

Lieutenant Colonel and also commanding officer of BGB-42 Abu Jaar Al Zahid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
