THAKURGAON: A Bangladeshi youth died at an Indian hospital and another is being treated there after Indian Border Security Force (BSF) had detained them from Chandohar border in Pirganj upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 28, son of Yunus Ali of Chandohar village of the upazila, while the ailing one is Asad. Details of Asad could not be known.
Meanwhile, BSF handed over the body to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at border pillar no. 330 on Wednesday night.
Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ABM Iftekaeul Islam, quoting BSF, told banglanews that a group of people numbering 15 to 20 tried to enter into the Indian territory illegally on Monday night.
Of them, Abdur Rahman and Asad fell down while crossing barbed wire fence, BSF nabbed them and took to Rayganj Hospital.
Rahman succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital while detained Asad was undergoing treatment there.
Body of Abdur Rahman has been handed over to his family, Pirganj Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Makbul Hossain confirmed to banglanews.
