GAZIPUR: An office assistant of Gazipur Awami League office was shot dead by miscreants at Konabari-Kashimpur road intersection on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Roman Mia, 38, resided at Aambagh of Konabari industrial area.

Locals said Roman was shot by some miscreants when he went to a bkash agent ground floor of BRAC Bank office in the area to send Tk 1lakh of AL office through bKash around 12:00pm, leaving Roman dead on the spot and another man injured.

The miscreants also snatched the money from Roman.

Officer-in-Charge M Sirajul Islam of Gazipur district Police special branch confirmed the matter to banglanews.
