DHAKA: Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi on Saturday evening reached Bangladesh on a three-day visit.

The foreign ministry sources said Wang Yi landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here around 6:50pm.

Bangladesh foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali received his Chinese counterpart at the airport.

During the visit, Wang Yi will hold a meeting with Mahmood Ali at the ministry around 10:00am Sunday.

The Chinese minister is scheduled to make courtesy calls to President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and some cabinet members.

Sources said some bilateral issues, including regional communication, will be discussed between the two countries that are ready to celebrate the 40 years of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh-China in 2015.
