CHITTAGONG: Coast Guard personnel detained 36 Malaysia-bound people and seized a trawler on the river of Karnaphuli under Patenga Thana in the port city Tuesday night.

The fortune seekers were held at 9:00pm in a drive conducted by Coast Guard during regular patrolling in the area.

Coast Guard (east zone) commander Shadidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Shadidul said that legal action would be taken against the detainees on Wednesday.

Coast Guard is now trying to nab the manpower agents with the help of the detainees, added the commander.
