3 BD nationals lynched in Tripura

HABIGANJ: Three Bangladeshi nationals were lynched in Bachaibari area of Khowai town in India's Tripura state bordering Habiganj district of Bangladesh on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Karam Ali, 40, son of Azgar Ali, Sujon Mia, 22, son of Somir Hossain and Akkal Mia, 19, son of Sonu Mia, hailed from Gazipur Union under Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj district.

Local sources said that they went out from their houses and were missing from Monday night.

They went to Khowai town of Tripura where they were beaten to death by a mob, sources added.

Karam Ali and Sujon Mia were reportedly dead on the spot and Akkal Mia was injured critically.

Later, fatally injured Akkal was admitted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Gazipur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Tajul Islam Mollah told banglanews that initiatives were taken to bring back the bodies from India.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-46) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
