DHAKA: London Metropolitan Police freed Barrister Abu Sayem, the newly appointed Human Rights Affairs Adviser to BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman, on Thursday after 12 hours of detention.
Several sources in London said the law enforcers detained him from his Ujama Law Firm at 11:00am (local time) on allegation of helping his client make fake documents. He was later freed at 11:00pm, they added.
Recently, Tarique Rahman appointed three lawyers including MA Sayem as Human Rights Affairs Advisers. Sayem, however, was detained within 10 days of his appointment.
