ACC quizzes LGED chief engineer

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has quizzed Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) chief engineer Mohammad Wahidur Rahman for obtaining freedom fighter certificates allegedly through forgery.

ACC deputy-director Mohammad Farid Ahmed Patowary questioned Wahidur Rahman at 11:15am Thursday at ACC headquarters in city’s Segun Bagicha area.

On the complain, ACC sources said that Wahidur Rahman, also Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Central Command Council vice-chairman, did not mention himself as a freedom fighter when he joined at the service but later he collected a freedom fighter certificate.

However, ACC has been investigating the LGED chief engineer on the allegation of his increase of two years of service period using the certificate.
