Midnight Mishap: NSU girl sent to Jail

DHAKA: Jannati Hossain, a North South University (NSU) student, also driver of the private car, which rammed into a police van in Mohakhali on early Friday and killed her friend, has been sent to the jail.

She was sent to the Dhaka Central Jail after Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman recorded her deposition in the morning.

Earlier, a Dhaka University student, who was also riding the car with her, was killed there in Shaheenbagh area as their car ram into a police van on Mohakhali flyover.

The deceased was identified as Multam Sher Ashraf, 27, son of retired Justice AM Abdul Mannan Khan, residing in Uttara area.

Following the accident, police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy while Jannati went home after taking first aid as she was also injured in the accident.

Later, she was arrested from her home after a case was filed with the Tejgaon Thana by Sub-Inspector Sarder Nizamul Haque in this connection.

Police produced her before the court in the morning and the court sent her to the jail.
