BANDARBAN: A man was killed and 9 others were injured as a robber gang opened fire in a wedding party at Kagazikhola village under Naikhongchhari upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ahammad Chhafa, 50, son of late Sultan Ahammad of the village.

Baishari Thana Officer-In-Charge (Investigation) Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Locals and police sources said that a robber gang numbering 10 to 15 attacked the house at 12:00am Friday and began firing indiscriminately, leaving the bridegroom’s elder brother, Ahammad, dead on the spot.

The injured were admitted at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

The robbers robbed about 50 Bhori gold, cash and other valuables and escaped.

On information, the OC and Baishari Union Parishad chairman visited the spot.
